Rent premium cars in Marseille

The Calanques Coastline. A drive toward Callelongue or the Sormiou access road puts a sports coupé to real use on tight, cliffside bends. Parking near the trailheads fills early, so a morning departure from central Marseille gives more room to manoeuver and park close to the coast.

Cassis and the Route des Crêtes. The coastal road between Marseille and Cassis climbs above limestone cliffs with wide views over turquoise water. It rewards a car with confident handling on narrow curves, and the harbor town itself offers easy roadside parking for a lunch stop.

Frioul Islands Crossing. There's no bridge to Frioul, so the drive ends at the Vieux-Port, where a convertible or GT can be left in short-term parking while a ferry covers the water crossing. A car well-suited to city streets and marina drop-offs matters more here than off-road capability.

Aix-en-Provence and Sainte-Victoire. North of Marseille, the road toward Aix-en-Provence opens into vineyard country beneath the Sainte-Victoire ridge. The route suits a grand tourer built for sustained highway speed followed by slower village streets around Aix's boulevards.

The Luberon Plateau. Further inland, the Luberon's hill villages and stone-walled lanes ask for patience and precise steering rather than raw power. A half-day trip from Marseille works best with an early start, since parking in the smaller villages is limited to a few spots near each entrance.
