Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This page explains, in plain terms, what happens on your browser when you visit luxurycarrentalfrance.com — whether you are comparing cars across our six cities or simply looking up a day rate. It covers cookies and similar technologies, the small amount of browser storage we use, the third-party requests triggered by certain pages, and how to control all of it.
Storage and third-party requests on this site
- Cookie notice preference (local storage)
- Purpose: remembers that you closed the cookie notice so it does not reappear on every page. Type: local storage, not a cookie. Duration: kept until you clear your browser storage or revisit after clearing it.
- Selected car (session storage)
- Purpose: remembers which car you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled for you. Type: session storage. Duration: deleted automatically when you close the tab or send the form.
- Google Fonts
- Purpose: loads the typefaces used on the site. Type: third-party request, not a cookie set by us. Duration: your browser's normal caching rules for fonts; Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested.
- intl-tel-input via jsDelivr CDN
- Purpose: powers the phone-number field in our enquiry forms, including country flags and formatting. Type: third-party script request. Duration: loaded each time the form is viewed; jsDelivr receives your IP address when the script is requested.
- Leaflet via unpkg.com
- Purpose: renders the interactive destinations map on our homepage. Type: third-party script request. Duration: loaded each time the map is viewed; unpkg.com receives your IP address when the script is requested.
- Map tiles via CARTO
- Purpose: supplies the map imagery (based on OpenStreetMap data) shown on the destinations map. Type: third-party request. Duration: loaded each time the map is viewed; CARTO receives your IP address when the tiles are requested.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website can ask your browser to store so the site remembers something about you between visits. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way: they are small pieces of data kept by your browser rather than sent back automatically with every request. The term "trackers" usually refers to any of these technologies used to follow a visitor's behaviour, often for advertising or audience measurement.
No cookies, no analytics, no advertising
luxurycarrentalfrance.com sets no cookies of its own. We have not installed any analytics tool, advertising pixel or social-media tracker on the site. We do not build advertising profiles, and nothing on this site follows you to other websites. This applies across all pages, whether you are browsing our fleet of 91 cars, checking a day rate, or filling in an enquiry form.
Browser storage we use directly
We use two small, functional entries that are not cookies and do not identify you:
- a local-storage entry that remembers you have already seen and closed the cookie notice;
- a session-storage entry that remembers which car you clicked on, so your enquiry form arrives pre-filled with the right model.
Neither entry contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail, and both are listed in the table above with their exact duration.
Third-party requests triggered by certain pages
A few pages load resources directly from third-party servers rather than from our own hosting. This happens for web fonts (Google Fonts), the phone-number field in our enquiry and airport-delivery forms (intl-tel-input, served from the jsDelivr CDN), and the destinations map on our homepage (the Leaflet library from unpkg.com and map tiles from CARTO, built on OpenStreetMap data). Each of these providers receives the visitor's IP address simply because that is how any request to a server works technically; none of them sets a cookie on behalf of Luxury Car France, and we do not share any other personal data with them through these requests.
WhatsApp buttons and what they do
Several pages display a WhatsApp button to make it easy to reach us about a car or a booking in one of our six cities. Before you click it, the button sets nothing at all on this site. The click itself is recorded in our own booking system, as described in our Privacy Policy, so our team can follow up quickly. Only after you click does your browser open WhatsApp, where the conversation then runs under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, operated by Meta.
How to control storage in your browser
You are always in control of what your browser keeps. Most browsers let you view, block or delete local storage, session storage and cookies from their settings or privacy menu, usually under a heading such as "site data" or "cookies and site permissions". Clearing site data for luxurycarrentalfrance.com will remove the cookie-notice preference and any session data, and the notice will simply reappear on your next visit. Because we do not rely on cookies to run the booking enquiry itself, clearing storage will not stop you from sending us a request for a quote.
Updates and any future optional cookies
We may update this page if the site evolves, for instance if a new map provider or form library is introduced. If we ever decide to add an optional cookie, such as one used for analytics or advertising, we will ask for your consent first through a clear choice on the site, and you will be able to accept or decline it before it is set. Under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the cookie guidelines issued by the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL, www.cnil.fr), the CNIL is the supervisory authority for cookie-related matters in France.
